The free-to-play war game World of Warships has just received a big update introducing a brand new ship line to the game, along with some new premium ships and some game changes.
Whenever it’s time for an update in World of Warships, Wargaming release a teaser video featuring their host Dasha to give us all a run-down of the content in the patch. This latest patch, numbered 0.5.4, adds the long-awaited Russian cruiser line to the online game. You can check out the video released by Wargaming to see these ships in action, or read on for more details.
New Soviet Ships
As we have already mentioned in a previous article about the Russian Cruisers, there will be a total of nine new ships, starting with the Novik at Tier II, and ending with the mighty Moskva at Tier X. Some of the higher tier cruisers also come with a cool new consumable called “Surveillance Radar”, which increases the acquisition range of enemy ships, even if they are using smoke to hide their position. We can see this new consumable being particularly good at hunting down enemy destroyers. You can check out the full stats of the Russian World of Warships vessels in the image below, or read an in-depth look at the cruisers.
On top of these new Soviet ships, there are two new Premium vessels being added; the USS Saipan and the HMS Campbeltown are being added to the client, but they won’t be available to play just yet. The vessels are being added so that they can have some sea trials before allowing players to open up their wallets and purchase these two iconic ships.
World of Warships is completely free-to-play, and can be downloaded by clicking the button below and heading over to the official World of Warships website.
