I’m going to be honest, when I first heard of World of Tanks, I wasn't sure that I would like it. I asked myself how they could possibly provide enough variety in content while at the same time balancing the whole game so it doesn’t become either a pay-to-win mess, or where certain tanks are just horribly overpowered.
After having delved into World of Warships, I decided to give it a go, and I’m already hooked. I firmly believe that it deserves a spot in the limelight, and to join its sibling, World of Warships, on the Game of the Day list.
For those not in the know, World of Tanks was Wargaming’s entry into the MMO free-to-play market, and has been a massive success. The community around the tank game has been steadily growing ever since.
The reason why World of Tanks is our Game of the Day is because it caters to all kinds of players. The title eases you in slowly to the concept of the game, initially giving you a number of basic tanks, that you can level up and gain experience with to move on to the next tier of armored vehicles.
Despite the matches consisting of multiplayer battles of up to 30 individual players, with huge maps and sprawling battlefields, they go by relatively fast. One of the features that I really like is the ability to head back to your garage if your tank gets destroyed, so you don’t have to wait for the whole battle to be over before starting another one. This allows for endless fast-paced action. It also ensures that you can learn from your mistakes and maybe not get destroyed so quickly the next time.
Download World of Tanks and check it out if you haven’t already, it is quite a lot of fun.
