Tribal Wars 2

With the plethora of real-time strategy browser games out there, Tribal Wars is certainly one of the most withstanding. The original version of the title has been around for more than a decade and continues to grow even to this day. InnoGames has now revealed a sequel, conveniently called Tribal Wars 2.

The upcoming RTS will also be free, browser-based and set in a medieval online world. The German publisher is planning to launch Tribal Wars 2 for mobile iOS and Android devices before the game hits its open beta phase.
Speaking of testing: If you want to be the first to see the legacy of Tribal Wars continued, you can now sign up for the closed beta that’s scheduled to kick off within the next months, so probably early next year. What about the actual gameplay, though?

Tribal Wars 2 will offer 26 technologies, 13 units and 17 unique buildings at launch, including the Hospital, Tavern or Preceptory. In order make your name known across all servers, you will have to expand your village into an empire, train an army and form alliances with other players. There will be quests as well as player-versus-player combat, all based on real-time strategy combat.
As expected, Tribal Wars 2 will not in any way be linked to the first installment of the popular strategy game. While the sequel will certainly be based on a similar concept and capture the essence of Tribal Wars, players will have to sign up a new account to play the free-to-play title.
