The world of Middle-earth is filling up fast according to the latest press release sent out by publishers Kabam. There are now over one million registered users for the free-to-play online game known as The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age.

The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age – a joint venture between publishers Kabam and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment – announced yesterday that they have officially broken the one million users mark.

This may not come as a major surprise seeing as the online fantasy game attracted more than 250,000 players just one day after the official launch on March 21st.

We’re elated that fans of The Hobbit have responded so enthusiastically to The Hobbit: Armies of the Third Age and we’re incredibly proud of how the game has performed in such a short time.

Andrew Sheppard, president of Kabam Studios

Additionally, another title from Kabam, The Hobbit: Kingdoms of Middle Earth, has also experienced success in the Android and iOS markets. It seems that fans of J.R.R. Tolkien’s masterpiece can play anytime and anywhere they want.
