Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus lane! It’s the week leading up to Christmas, and game studios are slowly wrapping up the year and taking some time off to see their families. It’s been a pretty slow week, aside from various winter and holiday themed updates. Here’s what happened in the last seven days.
We’re cheating a little bit with this one. Usually, we only mention games that have actually changed their testing phases, not announcements for upcoming testing stages. Fable Legends was supposed to be released this Christmas, but the studio is including more content than expected in the RPG, which is slowing down the development. The MMORPG is scheduled to start its open beta in spring 2016, just as a small heads-up for anticipating fans.
Well, at least there was one new release last week – sort of. Okay, yes, this one’s a stretch too, as Scrubby Dubby Saga has been available in the browser of your choice since August. Now, however, players can also download the match-3 game on their Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. That counts as a new release, right?
There were many holiday themed updates last week – too many to include in this weekly update. Then again, our job in this article is to select the most important news of the week anyway, so we decided to choose a couple that seemed more worthwhile than others. Goodgame Studios released a massive content update for two of their browser games. The Goodgame Empire and Goodgame Big Farm communities can look forward to a festive winter celebration! While the strategy game launched their update last week, the farm game merely expanded the event that has been going on since the end of November.
