The blue hedgehog who can run at supersonic speed has finally found his way to your mobile devices and tablets. In this game, he won’t have to rely on his feet, however, as he has found other means of transportation…
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is a racing game that was originally developed for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii U in November 2012. Since then, it has not only found its way to portable devices, such as PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS, but also to PCs. Publisher Sega didn’t stop there, however, and made the game available for an even wider audience by releasing the fast-paced racing game on iOS and Android devices. You can now race as one of 10 legendary racers, wherever and whenever you want. In contrast to all other versions of the game, you can do so entirely for free.
The Sonic the Hedgehog franchise has been known for its very fast-paced gameplay in nearly all of its installments, whether it be jump’n’runs or racing games. This mobile game offers an entirely new approach to this genre, as the blue hedgehog and his loyal friends and companions not only race against one another in cars or go-carts, but in vehicles that transform themselves according to the track.
In Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, you will race in tracks that feature land, water and air passages. According to each, your vehicle will change into a car, boat or jet which feature distinct gameplay mechanics. Master each and become the greatest driver of them all. Only the most skilled player who excels at drifting, barrel rolling and boosting will manage to win every challenge.
As in many other arcade-style racing games, you will find weapons at your disposal to slow down enemies by hitting them directly or setting up obstacles. Unleashing your all-star move will give you a final advantage to eventually win the race.
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed features more than ten legendary racers, each with their own vehicle and all-star move. Explore each race track to find hidden passages and alternate routes and beat your own track records. The mobile app also features social integration. Simply connect your game to Facebook and see your friends’ profile pictures on the track which you can then take down.
