Poisonville, the action-packed hit browser game by German online games developer and publisher Bigpoint, has finally reached the open beta. After two years of development and a record budget of €2 million, the 3D role-playing game opened its gates at the gamescom in Cologne last week.

In cooperation with the men's magazine Playboy, Bigpoint took an opportunity at the computer game fair trade gamescom to present their new action game Poisonville. Originally, it was planned to launch the browser game in 2009, however, the publisher was not satisfied with the game back then and decided to continue working on the gangster MMO.

Last week the open beta was finally announced. As of now, you have the opportunity to break out of jail with your virtual character, join a gang and take over the fictional North American town of Poisonville. At the gamescom in Cologne, the world's biggest computer games trade fair, Bigpoint showed off its new baby in all its glory. The highlight of the booth in the entertainment area was the Poisonville Playboy bunny who had been elected by the games community and Playboy readers beforehand.

So, finally you have the chance to actually play the long-awaited 3D action browser game and take part in the open beta test phase.
