Peggle Blast

Almost like a rainbow in the sky, a new fun game by the team behind Plants vs. Zombies 2 and Bejeweled Blitz has popped up out of nowhere. Electronic Arts has announced that they have collaborated with PopCap once again to create Peggle Blast, a free-to-play brain game featuring Bjorn the Unicorn and his mystical Peggle Master friends. The resemblance to the studio's former endeavors is quite uncanny. The puzzle game features the wackiness that players should be familiar with from Crazy Dave’s time traveling antics in Plants vs. Zombies 2 and the colorful and sparkling design of Bejeweled.
Peggle Blast is a casual game that (unlike many other new releases of this genre) doesn’t focus on a match-3 gameplay, but also doesn’t necessarily revolutionize the genre. Players won’t have to match stones, but shoot projectiles at the so called peggles (little stones that are scattered across the screen) to destroy them, in a concept that seems like a topsy turvy version of pinball games. Various tasks await players in each level, some more challenging than others. From what we can say at this moment, the app seems to lack some of the tactical refinement of PopCap’s brain games mentioned above. But considering the amount of content updates that have been added to their prior titles, it seems as though Peggle Blast will be around for a while.

Naturally, a pretty bizarre trailer has also been released which you can check out here:
Peggle Blast is available for free for all Android and iOS devices.
