The guys and girls over at Hi-Rez Studios have reason to be excited. Last week, Paladins finally started its open beta phase, and according to the development studio, the launch was very successful. On the first day alone, more than 100,000 new players registered an account for the multiplayer game. This seems to prove the naysayers wrong who claim that Paladins is merely an Overwatch clone. There seems to be enough room for both titles in the online gaming world. The first week of public beta has certainly gone very smoothly for Hi-Rez Studios and their latest battle arena game. The hundreds of thousands of players are happily enjoying the free-to-play online game, and there have been no major hiccups. Additionally, the action game is one of the most popular games on Steam at the moment. At the time of this article, Paladins was the third most popular game on the gaming platform beating titles such as Warframe and War Thunder.
In line with all the positive news, the folks behind Paladins have announced that they will expand the upcoming eSports tournament that will take place in January. Teams from Brazil, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand, and China will also be invited to compete for the $150,000 prize pool.
We will keep you posted on any future updates and the upcoming eSports tournament for Paladins.
