The Tomb Raider series has not only focused on action. Riddles and puzzles take center stage in Lara Craft Go!
A few years ago, the Tomb Raider series was rebooted, giving the story behind the young, female archaeologist an action-oriented, fast paced focus. The end result was an amazing video game that felt modern, fresh, and cinematic! Lara Croft: Relic Run focused on the fast-paced action of the reboot in a similar way. The female protagonist ran and shot herself through parkour-style levels in an endless runner gameplay. The original franchise was not only about action and quick-time events however. Lara Croft Go brings the gameplay back to the roots in yet another different mobile interpretation of the series. Riddles and puzzles take center stage in this installment of Tomb Raider. Let’s be honest here: this does come closer to the actual job description of an archaeologist than running through a jungle while shooting at monsters.
Lara Croft Go is a similarly stylized interpretation of an iconic franchise as Hitman Go! Not only the graphics reflect the stylization of the game, but the entire gameplay does as well. Lara Craft Go focuses on one specific feature of the franchise’s gameplay. You need to use your brain in order to solve the many riddles and puzzles of the various levels. Switch a lever to move a platform, light a torch to solve a puzzle, or use vines to cross gorges. Step by step you get closer to the treasure. Naturally, it wouldn’t be a true Tomb Raider experience if there wasn’t an occasional enemy here and there. Fans of the franchise will be delighted to hear that even the Tyrannosaurus Rex is part of the adventure again.
Lara Croft Go is a beautiful mobile game – no questions asked! The lush graphics are impressionistic and stylized. With the help of colors, shapes, and lighting, you will feel totally immersed in the game. The puzzle game is coming out for Android and iOS devices.
