Bender is wreaking havoc on smartphones and tablets! He is teaming up with Fry, Zoidberg and Leela to go on various adventures in the far future.
Fans of Futurama were devastated when Fox decided to cancel the TV series after only a few seasons! The fan-base was so persistently mourning the series' cancellation that they managed to bring it back for another couple of seasons on a different network. While that run also didn’t last forever, the franchise has managed to stay relevant and current up to this day. Thanks to developers such as Wooga, the brand lives on in other media forms, such as video games. The Berlin based studio, which you might be familiar with from games such as Diamond Dash or Pearl’s Peril, has teamed up with Fox Entertainment to develop a mobile game based on the iconic futuristic franchise. Futurama: Game of Drones is a challenging puzzle game set in New New York of the year 3000.
In Futurama: Game of Drones for smartphones and tablets, you will delve into the future to support the Planet Express crew as they compete against their longtime shipping rival MomCo. Your goal in the app is rather similar to the daily events of the television show: You get tasked to deliver dangerous cargo to various different locations all across the universe, which cover all kinds of hazardous planets. The actual gameplay sees you connecting groups of delivery drones to solve various challenging puzzles. Naturally, it won’t be quite as easy as that, and various obstacles and dangers will make your journey to foreign planets anything but simple. We are sure, however, that with the right strategy and persistence, you will be able to deliver any cargo to its designated location in Futurama: Game of Drones. If you still need help in one of the more challenging levels, you can resort to helpful power-ups and special attacks that you can collect throughout the puzzle game.
If you are worried about the mobile game preserving the integrity of the show, be aware that Dave Grossman (Secret of Monkey Island, The Wolf Among Us), Jonathan Myers (Game of Thrones: Ascent), and Patric M. Verrone (a member of the original Futurama writing team) are working on an original storyline for the mobile game.
