It is difficult to stay on top of gaming news these days with developers jumping back and forth between testing phases. Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies had already entered open beta - until the servers were taken offline to prepare for launch. The same has happened now with F.E.A.R. Online.
The horror saga continues.
The free-to-play shooter went into open beta back in June and players from all over the world could join the madness without needing a beta key. Then, the F.E.A.R. Online servers were taken offline so that Aeria Games could deploy new features and work out some of the kinks. According to the latest press release, the public testing phase will make its return on October 8th followed by an official Steam launch on October 17th. Fans of the popular franchise and newbie horror enthusiasts will then be able to explore new maps, try their luck in various game modes, and craft legendary weapons. The short break between the two open beta events was used to work through player feedback, implement some much-needed changes and extensively redesign the online shooter. Expect to play through the new version once F.E.A.R. Online fully launches on October 17th.
