Dust off your pickax and get ready to dig your way through icy tundras and lush meadows: Landmark gives you complete control to create a world.
If you have ever wandered through the virtual world of Norrath, you are probably familiar with iconic places such as Kelethin, Cabilis or the city of Qeynos. Back when EverQuest first launched, gamers from all over the world joined forces and ventured through zones, but had little say in how the online universe was changing. With the release of EverQuest Next Landmark, however, things are bound to be different. This free-to-play MMO developed by Daybreak Game Company not only goes hand in hand with the company’s upcoming MMORPG, but puts you in charge of building your very own fantasy world.
Similar to Minecraft, Landmark is all about exploring and constructing a world that you would like to play in, and then share it with others. Once you find a landscape that feels right to you, start digging and molding your given surroundings into whatever you would like to see added to the virtual world, whether that’s ancient ruins, gigantic castles or moss-covered temples inspired by Cazic Thule. The only requirement is that it has to fit the game’s overall setting and lore.
This client-based title is a sandbox game, quite literally. Here, you take any resources that you come across and use them to build something completely different. If you want to keep other players from messing with your creative flow, make sure to put down a flag and claim your territory. Should you be interested in collaborating with friends, feel free to do just that and have them join you at your building site. Together, you can come up with design templates that can be shared with the entire community of Landmark.
You will be given the exact same tools that Daybreak Game Company uses to build their games. Show them what you’ve got by making something truly unique and with a little bit of luck, your creation might even be featured in EverQuest Next.
