It is not surprising that a game that we raved about in a review would also be featured as our Game of the Day sooner or later. Well, the time has come, and we are introducing Duelyst to you, our Game of the Day!
It’s been a few weeks since we’ve downloaded the turn-based strategy game and thoroughly tested it for our review. Well, we have to admit that we have delved into the online game every single time we’ve turned on our PC since then. This alone is reason enough to advertise the indie game in this very article. There’s a plethora of reasons why we have felt the need to log into Duelyst so regularly. First and foremost, the retro game is highly addictive (duh). It is just too tempting to quickly log in, choose a deck, and battle it out against another player. There’s no extra frills, and it takes only a few moments until you fight against someone else. We are always only a few clicks away from jumping into the game. Additionally, the battles themselves are quick and straightforward. Our longest match might’ve been around 10 minutes long, ending in a tense and nerve-wracking finale.
We also feel like the game always rewards us for playing. We constantly gain experience points, even when losing a match – and believe us, there are lots of lost battles. Still, we have climbed up the ranking and are making some progress. It never feels like “lost” time when we play Duelyst, no matter the outcome of an individual match.
