The last few game updates in Despicable Me: Minion Rush all revolved around a holiday. There was a Christmas patch, a Valentine’s Day update, and an April Fools’ patch. Now that spring has taken full effect, it is time for a new minion to find his way to the endless runner. Meet Jerry in a brand new game update which doesn’t focus on a holiday for once.
As you can see from his introduction trailer, Jerry has a few abilities that let him stand out from the crowd. His skills allow him to use his power-ups for longer periods of time than any other minion. He also brings a new mini-game to the platformer that challenges players to keep him afloat, as he drifts across the sky hanging from a balloon. In this mini-game, the view changes to a side scrolling perspective. Players can tap the screen in order to make Jerry bounce higher and catch more bananas.
As mentioned above, spring has sprung in Despicable Me: Minion Rush. This is also why an in-game event inspired by the time of year has been added to the endless runner. It challenges players to collect flowers, umbrellas, and butterflies in turn for nifty rewards.
